In Akatho Puratho, there’s deep pathos in every segment but it is devoid of sentimentality. There’s birth, life, strife, survival, death, murder. There’s the law of nature and there are crimes of passion, committed in the mind and on the body. The movie trenchantly captures both the complexity of man’s death and the nonchalance of discarding a doll that was once dearer than life.
